Hunky Chris Hemsworth is moving right along with his career. The star of 'Thor' and the upcoming 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'The Avengers' is in talks to attach his muscle-bound arms to a Formula One race car steering wheel for Ron Howard's actioner 'Rush.' The film, written by Peter Morgan ('Frost/Nixon,' 'Hereafter'), centers on race car driver James Hunt (Hemsworth) and his rivalry with Niki Lauda for Formula One circuit dominance in the 1970s. If all goes well, the project will get a checkered flag for production early next year. [Deadline]

Kristen Wiig, who has parlayed her gig on 'Saturday Night Live' into a series of co-starring comedy roles leading up to her big splash in 'Bridesmaids,' is getting serious with 'Imogene,' a project she will produce and star in that centers on a moderately successful New York playwright who fakes a suicide attempt in order to win back her ex-boyfriend, only to be put under the custody of her mother, a gambler, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film, which is to be directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini ('Cinema Verite') will begin production Aug. 8 in New York City.
