Over the course of some 15-odd years, Justin Timberlake has come a long way from the days frosting his tips and dominating the airwaves with 'N Sync. All it really took was a surprisingly fly solo album to set him apart from the post-pubescent pack, and ever since then, things have just been turning up Justin.
After transitioning from the recording studio to the movie set with supporting roles in 'Alpha Dog,' 'The Love Guru,' and, most notably, 'The Social Network,' JT has finally landed his first leading role, opposite Mila Kunis, in the upcoming romantic comedy 'Friends with Benefits.' Even for someone so recognizable, this is a big step up, and the pressure's on to see if his stadium-filling magic can bring sexy back to the multiplex.
As every publicity agent knows, you can't win at the box office without flogging your project on morning television, so Timberlake turned up at the 'Today' show this morning. Judging from the chemistry between him and Kunis - were the 3-second-delay guys too busy laughing to censor their riffs about military balls? - and today's near-glowing review from The Hollywood Reporter, it's starting to look like this movie may be tolerable after all.
