'Emily the Strange' -- the iconic character first developed to promote Cosmic Debris, the clothing line founded by artist and skateboarder Rob Reger back in 1991, and who has now come to adorn clothing, stationery, stickers, fashion accessories and Dark Horse Entertainment comic books -- is getting ready for her turn before the cameras. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Chloe Moretz is attached to star as the punky goth figure in a story line that is being kept under wraps. Universal has tapped Melisa Wallack, who wrote the script that became Relativity's high-profile Snow White project, to write 'Emily.'

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced three special awards that will be handed out before next year's Oscar ceremony: Oprah Winfrey will be honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, James Earl Jones and makeup artist Dick Smith will receive Honorary Awards. The trophies will be handed out at the 3rd Annual Governors Awards, which will be held Nov. 12 but will not be broadcast.

Bradley Cooper is back in talks to star in 'The Silver Linings Playbook,' The Weinstein Company's adaptation of the Matthew Quick novel -- following the adventures of a former high school history teacher just released from a mental institution -- that David O.
