Just from the name alone, there's a good chance you've already guessed what 'Machine Gun Preacher' is going to be about. And now that we've gotten our hands on the first official poster thanks to the folks over at IMDB, our preconceived notions are that much more fulfilled.

Based on a true story, Gerard Butler plays Sam Childers, a former biker/drug dealer who saw the light, turned his life around, and decided to spend the rest of his life rescuing Sudanese children from becoming child soldiers. Something tells us there will be a lot of shooting balanced out by a lot of altruism, and while that's not exactly the most organic genre-blend we've ever heard of, we're nevertheless intrigued.

Directed by Marc Forster, written by Jason Keller, and co-starring Michelle Monaghan and Michael Shannon, go ahead and hit the jump to see Butler channeling his inner John Creasy in the full poster for 'Machine Gun Preacher.'

Still have to wait until November 18 to see how this humanitarian shoot-em-up turns out, but if there's anything to be said about that poster, it's that Gerard Butler sure makes for one hardcore holy man.

So what do you think of the first 'Machine Gun Preacher' poster?
