If you were disappointed about not getting an invite to the special eight-minute sizzle reel screening of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' last week (and, oh yeah, 'Straw Dogs'), some great news: the new theatrical trailer for the upcoming David Fincher-directed adaptation of Steig Larsson's international bestseller is online and it's lengthy. Forget the norms of two-and-a-half minute trailers; 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' tease is almost four minutes! Hey, beggars can't be choosers, especially when what's being offer looks so tempting. Watch ahead.

Some initial thoughts: the throbbing Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross-penned score is very similar to the Oscar-winning work they did in 'The Social Network,' but no less effective; Daniel Craig has never seemed more human or flawed; Rooney Mara lives up to the initial hype of her casting, injecting Lisbeth Salander with doses of empathy amid her badassery. Also: the look! Vintage Fincher. Like 'Zodiac' and 'The Social Network' had a baby with 'Se7en.'

'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' hits theaters on Dec. 21. Watch the trailer in HD over at Apple.
