It's time to get used to seeing Julianne Hough on the big screen. The former two-time winner of 'Dancing With the Stars' hits the big screen next month in the remake of 'Footloose,' stars as the female lead in next summer's 'Rock of Ages,' and has now found herself a hip indie: the formerly titled 'Lamb of God,' the directorial debut of Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. Hough should be fairly comfortable in the new film, if only because it also features her 'Rock of Ages' co-star Russell Brand.
Per the press release, the untitled film follows a sheltered girl (Hough) who loses her faith after surviving a plane crash and "revels in the decadence of Las Vegas." It's there where she meets an "unlikely companion" (Brand) who helps her find herself. Mandate Pictures will produce, with production scheduled to start this spring.
