Book your trip to New York now, comic book fans: The first footage from 'The Avengers' will be unveiled at this year's New York Comic Con. Adding some star power to the Oct. 15 panel: Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), and Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson). Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), will be a no-show, but hopefully more surprise superheroes will be available to promote the eagerly anticipated Marvel all-star pic.
The studio will screen the clips at a special event in NYCC's IGN Theater Saturday, Oct. 15 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. The Con takes place Oct. 13-16, 2011 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan.

The movie, as all good geeks already know, opens May 4, 2012.
