In 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' Danny DeVito plays Frank, a gun-toting alcoholic slob. As such, you'd be forgiven for doing a double take upon hearing his voice in the first trailer for 'The Lorax'; it's odd that coherent, non-vulgar sentences are coming out of the actor's mouth! All joking aside, judging from this first look at 'The Lorax,' based on the popular Dr. Seuss book, it could be the finest Seuss adaptation since -- er, the cartoon 'Grinch Stole Christmas' from the '60s.
Zac Efron stars as Ted, a boy who becomes fascinated with Audrey (Taylor Swift), the girl next door. Ted soon learns about the evil Once-ler (Ed Helms), a man who chops down the beautiful Truffula Trees in order to make a garment known as the Thneed. The only thing standing in the Once-ler's way is the Lorax (DeVito).

From the looks of this trailer, director Chris Renaud ('Despicable Me') has created a colorful Seuss-ian universe for the film. Also, for fans of the original story, it's great to finally see the face of the Once-ler (in the book, we only see his arms and hands).

You can check out the trailer above (for the HD version, head over to Apple). 'The Lorax' hits theaters on March 12, 2012.
