Exciting news from across the pond: 'Skyfall,' the next James Bond film, has officially begun shooting! On Monday, at 8:45 a.m. local time, action was called by Sam Mendes for the first time. Where will "Scene 45," the inaugural scene of the 'Skyfall' production, take place? A dirty bathroom, apparently! Check out the first image ahead.

More good news, besides the fact that Bond 23 has started: famed cinematographer Roger Deakins is lensing this edition. The nine-time Oscar nominee -- responsible for the iconic looks of 'The Shawshank Redemption,' 'The Big Lebowski,' 'Fargo,' 'No Country for Old Men,' 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' and 'True Grit,' among others -- has previously worked with Mendes on 'Jarhead' and 'Revolutionary Road.'

'Skyfall' is due in theaters on Nov. 9, 2012.
