On Saturday night, Justin Timberlake attended the Instructor Battalion Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Va., with Kelsey De Santis, the Marine corporal who asked the growing international superstar to the event in a YouTube video over the summer. Before that, Mila Kunis -- Timberlake's 'Friends with Benefits' co-star -- was asked out via video to another Marine Corps Ball. Now, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the latest celebrity to receive a date-plea from a YouTube user -- only this one is far more personal. p>
26-year-old Lindsey Anne Miller, a Los Angeles resident with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer, recently saw '50/50,' and took to YouTube to see if Gordon-Levitt would meet her for some coffee.
"I didn't admit this in my first post about it, but after seeing Joseph Gordon-Levitt's performance and seeing/reading some of his subsequent interviews about the film I thought, 'This guy gets it. And he's cute. I wonder if I could ever run into him somewhere,'" Miller wrote on her blog. "But even though I live in L.A., it seems impossible to find him."
That's where YouTube and social networking comes in, though Miller already understands that this long-shot might be construed as "ridiculous."
"It feels like I'm making a big leap from being an anonymous cancer 'liver' a few months ago to now starring in my own video. But, life is short. So, why not?"
You can watch Miller's video below.
UPDATE: At a movie premiere in New York on Tuesday night, Gordon-Levitt was asked about Miller's video. He said he had heard about it, but hadn't seen it yet. Does that mean he's going on the date? "I'll have to watch it," said the actor.
