Following the recent news of the former California governor's return to the "Terminator" franchise, in his original role, Examiner announced today that "The Rock" may be starring in "Terminator 5" as an enemy machine. Although it's not official, "The Rock" seems like the ideal bad guy to not only be a machine (he practically is one), but also bring the necessary heat to reboot the flailing franchise. The success of "T5" is even more hopeful since the franchise rights have moved from Warner Bros. to Megan Ellison's Annapurna Films.
No director has been named, but Laeta Kalogridis ("Shutter Island") and Patrick Lussier ("Drive Angry") are penning a script, as well as a version specifically for "The Rock." We'll just have to wait and see if the WWE wrestler will turn to metal to take down the original Terminator, who hopefully isn't too old to fight back.
