Three new posters meant to look like propaganda pieces from the governing body in "Ender's Game" debuted online Tuesday, offering up scare tactics and warmongering sentiment no doubt meant to rile Earth's citizens into supporting the ongoing training of its children to do battle.
The posters went up on if-sentinel.com, the official website of the International Fleet, the fictitious government at the heart of "Ender's Game" that recruits child soldiers to train at the deep space Battle School in preparation for another planet-threatening alien invasion. Slogans such as "Never Again!" and "Protect Earth" are plastered across the posters, all three of which bear the tagline "The next invasion is imminent."
Much like fellow YA movie sensation "The Hunger Games," "Ender's Game" -- based on the Orson Scott Card novel -- is creating a web campaign surrounding the governing body as a cool way to get the word out about the film, while also expanding that universe's mythology. The slick marketing ramps up excitement for what's sure to be an epic battle.
Starring "Hugo"'s Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggin, "Ender's Game" also features Harrison Ford as Colonel Hyrum Graff, Hailee Steinfeld as Petra Arkanian, Ben Kingsley as Mazer Rackham, Viola Davis as Colonel Gwen Anderson, and Abigail Breslin as Valentine Wiggin.
The movie hits theaters November 1.
