"Pitch Perfect" was so aca-awesome that it's spawned a sequel, and now an a capella holiday album to boot.
Actress Hana Mae Lee, perhaps better known as whispering Lilly in the 2012 comedy, spilled the beans on the cast's festive offering to MTV News at the Teen Choice Awards. "We have a holiday album coming out so stay tuned," she teased. "I'm going to be singing a very special song."
As further proof of the film's continued popularity, star Anna Kendrick's "Cups (Pitch Perfect's 'When I'm Gone')" is currently number 6 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. And she -- unlike us -- is super surprised.
The actress posted the following reaction video to Instagram yesterday, writing, "How I feel about having a song in the billboard top ten for five weeks. #ItDefiesLogic" (It doesn't, but we still love her, even when she's wrong.)
"Pitch Perfect" collected four surfboards at Sunday's TCAs, including Choice Comedy and acting nods for Rebel Wilson, Skylar Astin, and Adam DeVine.
The Barden Bellas will take the stage again when the follow-up hits theaters in 2015, which is an aca-awfully long time away.
