Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill are throwing a "Sausage Party," and everyone's invited.
The duo, along with Rogen's frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg ("This Is the End"), pitched the idea for a raunchy, animated comedy starring everyone's favorite smoked meat to Sony, which loved the concept and will pair with Annapurna to finance the project. While Hill helped dream up the idea, he won't be writing the screenplay; instead, those duties will go to Rogen, Goldberg, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir.
"Sausage Party" will tell the R-rated tale of a grocery store sausage on a quest to discover the truth about his existence after he falls out of a shopping cart. He bands together with his new friends in a race to get back to his original aisle before a big Fourth of July sale.
This movie sounds completely irreverent and possibly insane -- and we can't wait to see it. It should be in theaters sometime in 2015.
