The Internet went crazy when James Spader was added to the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" roster. In fact, the "Pretty in Pink" actor is playing the eponymous Ultron -– but the question lingers, how exactly would he be playing the robotic super-villain?
Marvel's Kevin Feige has let spill a few details about how Spader will be playing Ultron, or at least how he won't be playing the baddie. "We did not hire James Spader to do a robot voice," Feige revealed, but that leaves room for all sorts of interpretation. Although it's not clear how Spader will appear on-screen, at the very least he'll be doing a little CGI.
Feige told the Huffington Post, "[W]e'll be capturing his face and his body to create a whole performance. He's a very unique and incredibly exciting and unpredictable actor." (Yep! We've seen "Secretary"!) He added that Spader's Ultron will be "much more than just a robot. That he's infused with much character."
However, as THR pointed out, the Ultron in one story arc creates an entire army of Ultrons. In "Ultron Unlimited," "Ultron" recreated all of the previous Ultrons and created hundreds of new Ultron bodies, many of whom had bodies made of secondary adamantium, and reprogrammed them all with fiercely loyal minds."
So, how about an army of James Spaders? We wouldn't say no.
