It's been in the works for a while now, but it looks like the "10 Things I Hate About You" spinoff is finally getting off the ground.

The movie, called "10 Things I Hate About Life," isn't a sequel so much as a continuation of the beloved teen flick, described as "advanc[ing] situations from the original film." In its current iteration, it stars Evan Rachel Wood and Thomas McDonell ("Fun Size," ABC series "Suburgatory") as two people who meet just as they're about to commit suicide, and end up falling in love.
Production had started a year ago before shooting was shut down, but now filming is expected to begin again in December. A previous version of the movie had "Captain America" star Hayley Atwell attached in Wood's role.
"10 Things I Hate About Life" will be helmed by "10 Things I Hate About You"'s director, Gil Junger. Here's hoping Junger finds a way to incorporate an epic song and dance number like Heath Ledger's from the original.
