Remember the movie "The Best Man"? It came out way back in 1999, which means there are teenagers who hadn't yet been born when it first hit theaters. It also means we've been waiting a really, really long time for the sequel, "The Best Man Holiday," to arrive.
If you think that follow-up took forever, you should know that another movie from 1999, "SLC Punk!" currently has a sequel in the works. Meanwhile, next month, we'll finally get to see Ron, Champ, Brian, Brick, and Veronica back together in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," nearly a decade after the original's release. And, in 2015, we're getting "Star Wars: Episode VII," a mere 32 years after "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi."
Long delays for sequels aren't too common, but, especially these days, they're not rare, either. Below, we've listed ten of the widest gaps between two theatrical films in the same franchise and determined if each of the later installments was worth the wait.
