Vin Diesel has been attached to star in a film adaptation of '70s TV cop series "Kojak" for about a year now, and while there haven't been many updates about the project since then, Diesel already knows who he wants to direct it.

Responding to a fan inquiry on his Facebook page about which directors he'd like to collaborate with, Diesel had this to say: "Kojak... New York... Ang Lee..."
While Lee is no stranger to the action genre, the Oscar winner seems like a bit of a reach for Diesel's project. Plus, he's already focused on his next movie, an ambitious 3D film about legendary boxing rivalries.
Still, Lee has proven himself to be a fairly populist filmmaker (see 2003's "Hulk" and last year's "Life of Pi"), so maybe he wouldn't turn his nose up at a TV cop drama adaptation. Guess we'll have to wait and see if Diesel gets his wish. Though considering he's playing a talking tree soon, it may be a while before this strange potential collaboration happens.
