One of the very best action movies of last year (and, honestly, one of the very best movies period) was "John Wick," which saw Keanu Reeves play a hitman who gives up his murderous lifestyle for an idyllic suburban life with his wife. When she dies and some thugs murder his dog, he springs back into action, leaving a truly awe-inspiring path of destruction in his wake. While modestly budgeted, "John Wick" was far from a blockbuster, instead enjoying the "sleeper hit" label (it made double its production budget back, but lord only knows how much it cost to market). Those of us who loved the movie, though, silently prayed that John Wick would return.

Our prayers have been answered.

During a chat with Film.com, stunt coordinators-turned-directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch revealed that they were "in development" on a sequel. " "We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original," Stahelski told the site. "It's the matter of story and how much you like the character. That's always the most important. If there's great action but you have a character that no one likes and doesn't have charisma you're not going to watch it. Look at any great action star, whether it's Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson or Robert Downey Jr., pick a name, you love the guy first. Good action, bad action, you just love them in action. So we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we'll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome."

While Reeves' involvement isn't confirmed, he seemingly had a wonderful time with the first film and in habiting that character. I bet people will keep asking him whether or not he's back but I'm thinking, yeah, he's back.
