Jared Leto went so Method to play The Joker in "Suicide Squad" that he missed his opportunity to bond with The Fresh Prince. Filming is now over for David Ayer's DC Comics movie, which stars Will Smith as Deadshot, but Smith chatted with Beats 1 Radio about the Squad (as well as his new music). He was asked about working with Jared Leto and gave a somewhat unexpected answer:

How 'bout this? I've never actually met Jared Leto. So we worked together for six months and we've never exchanged a word outside of 'Action!' and 'Cut!' We've never said 'Hello,' we never said 'good day.' I've only ever spoken to him as Deadshot and him as the Joker. I literally have not met him yet. So, the first time I see him will be 'Hey, Jared. What's up?' 'Will, hey man, how you doing? Nice to meet you.' Never, not a single word exchanged off camera. He was all in on the Joker."

Question: Has anyone ever really met Jared Leto? He seems so out there, and always in some kind of character. This is not a bad thing, it's an intriguing thing. It's possible you'd meet someone new every time. Then again, in Hollywood, with so many actors going Method, this has to happen a lot. Like, what would happen if Jared Leto, Daniel Day-Lewis, Christian Bale, and, say, Matthew McConaughey worked on a movie together -- would any of those actors actually meet each other or just their characters? Meryl Streep never seems to have this problem -- she just shows up, gets into the perfect character, and then goes back into being Meryl Streep with no drama.

Here's Will Smith's nearly 20 minute talk, in case you want to hear more from him:

"Suicide Squad" is scheduled for release on August 5, 2016.
