In the oodles of spare time he had while directing "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Abrams apparently produced a surprise, top-secret sequel to 2008's monster smash, "Cloverfield." The follow-up is titled "10 Cloverfield Lane," and Abrams' Bad Robot production company and Paramount just unveiled the first trailer.

Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman, and John Gallagher Jr., "10 Cloverfield Lane" is described by Abrams to Collider as a "blood relative" of the earlier film. The project, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, had been known as "Valencia," but its connection to "Cloverfield" comes as a complete surprise. 10 Cloverfield Lane - Trailer No. 1
