Anne Hathaway has a new role to play: mom. The actress has welcomed her first child, a boy, with husband Adam Shulman.

E! News reports that Hathaway gave birth on March 24 to son Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman. A rep for the Oscar winner confirmed the news to E!, and sources tell the site that the new family of three is overjoyed.

"The baby is extremely healthy and is surrounded by friends and family in L.A.," a source told E!. "Anne and Adam are ecstatic to be parents."

Hathaway has mostly kept a low profile throughout her pregnancy, and declined to even confirm she was expecting until earlier this year. The actress eventually shared the news with her Instagram followers in an empowering post, showing off her growing bump in a bikini and explaining that she wanted to be the one to take photos of her bundle-to-be -- and not the nearby paparazzi.

Hathaway and Shulman appeared together most recently at Vanity Fair's annual post-Oscars party in February, where the glowing actress looked radiant in a gorgeous beaded gown. The pair tied the knot back in 2012, after four years of dating.

Congrats to the happy family!
