Netflix's "Stranger Things" made stars out of its young cast members, and the standout is Millie Bobby Brown, who played the mysterious superpowers-wielding, buzzcut-wearing Eleven.

The Duffer brothers, who created the '80s-set drama, wrote in Entertainment Weekly that Brown first balked at getting her head shaved, until they showed her a photograph of Charlize Theron as badass Furiosa in "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Then, "When the day of the haircut finally arrived, Millie's mom brought out a camcorder, while her dad ran away with tears in his eyes, unable to watch. It was a pretty dramatic scene. But also very quick. Within 10 minutes we had shaved it all off and slapped a fake '11' tattoo on Millie's wrist. Millie looked at herself in the mirror, gave her best Furiosa scream -- and Eleven was born."

Here's that video taken by Brown's father. It is very appropriately set to Beyonce's "Pretty Hurts":

And we thought Eleven was awesome -- go Millie!
