It's been almost five years since the last "Harry Potter" flick, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2," hit theaters, and that gap has weighed heavily on Potterheads. Thankfully, 2016 has brought forth a wealth of new "Potter" content, from the hit sequel play "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" to the upcoming prequel film, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," due out in November.

In celebration of that latter event, Warner Bros. plans to re-release the original "Potter" movies for a limited engagement later this month. The studio is partnering with Imax for a one-week run of all eight HP flicks, beginning on October 13.

The event will be shown in Imax's 2D format, and will also feature exclusive content from "Fantastic Beasts," including recorded remarks from that film's star, Eddie Redmayne, and other cast members. The re-release will mark the first time that the first two "Potter" films, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," will be made available in the Imax format.
