Biography

Alex Etel ascended to fame as a child actor during the mid- to late 2000s, with a pair of starring roles in heavily praised films -- both of which found him playing sweet-natured, open-faced little boys thrust into fantastic situations. Etel debuted with the lead in British director Danny Boyle's family-oriented fantasy Millions (2004) -- about the adventures of two little English boys who find a load of 265,000 British pounds and must contend with the ramifications of this discovery. The budding actor then teamed up with director Jay W. Russell ( My Dog Skip) for the fantasy Water Horse: Legend of the Deep (2007), in which Etel played Angus MacMorrow, a Scottish lad who happens upon a strange egg next to a nearby loch, then befriends the kindly mythical creature that hatches forth from it. - Nathan Southern, Rovi
