Jack Osbourne Biography

Jack Osbourne -- the son of heavy metal rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his music manager-turned-talk show hostess wife, Sharon -- emerged as a star on his family's MTV reality series, The Osbournes (2002-2006). That program took a darkly comic look at familial dysfunction among the wealthy and privileged -- and netted the highest ratings of any single series in MTV history. By the time it wrapped, Jack in particular began to clean himself up; he dropped his alleged excessive drinking, lost over 50 pounds, and emerged triumphant. MTV rejected his pitch for a reality series of his own (reportedly arguing that he couldn't carry it); he instead starred in Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie -- a U.K.reality program that found Jack and cast mates traveling the globe to participate in "exotic" sports such as running with the bulls in Pamplona and engaging in Thai boxing.
