02/13/09 After taking the safe route for much of the episode, the show takes a huge chance with a final segment that finds Clayburgh sitting on a stool and half-singing, half-talking her way through a cabaret-style number that tracks the simultaneously mundane and tragi-comic deterioration of a relationship, from the excitement of new love to the boredom and ennui of deciding to love someone simply because they're always around and it's the path of least resistance.  |  The A.V.
