Biography
Best known as a big-band leader, Leighton Noble also occassionally acted in feature films, beginning with a small role as an orchestra leader in the musical Gift of Gab (1934). He had his first co-starring role as Private Joe Collins in the zany Bud Abbott and Lou Costello comedy It Ain't Hay (1943). On the music side, Noble and his band played at hotels across North America in the 1940s. During the 1950s, Noble spent six years hosting a local television series. - Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
