It's been 21 years since Kiefer Sutherland was a creepy vamp leading his <A HREF='http://www.moviefone.com/movie/the-lost-boys/4967/main' target='_blank'>'Lost Boys'</a> in sunny California, Jason Patric was a promising up-and-comer (and Kiefer's BFF -- wow, neither of those panned out) ... and perhaps most momentously, since Corey Feldman and Corey Haim combined their awesomeness to become the even awesomer "two Coreys." (That's right, 'Lost Boys' is responsible for that powerful pairing. Uh, thanks.) Although this remains his most famous role, his 1989 appearance on <A HREF='http://television.aol.com/show/american-gladiators/228292/main' target='_blank'>'American Gladiators'</a> is a close second; the toothy Wirth instigated a brawl with the stalwart gladiator Gemini by slamming a ball on the back of his head. Not too bright.

Perhaps this film's theme really reverberated with Wirth, making him realize that his time as an actor is up. At least now he can concentrate on his careers as a musician and an artist.

It is not until a comedic moment at the close of the film that we discover that the seemingly senile Grandpa was privy to Santa Carla's ghastly plight all along.

His turn as Grandpa remains one of his most memorable film roles.
