First Look: 'Terminator Salvation'
That's why the decision to revive 'Terminator' for a fourth installment (with, almost definitely, more to come) was met with mixed emotions. And the announcement that McG would direct received even more passionate outcries -- could the 'Charlie's Angels' guy really go head-to-head with John Connor and Skynet's toughest machines? Well, he has, and judging by the first trailer and footage shown at this year's Comic-Con, even die-hard 'Terminator' fans will not be disappointed.
Moviefone was invited to the set of 'Terminator Salvation' in Albuquerque, New Mexico, last June to see Christian Bale step into John Connor's future-fighting shoes, with Bryce Dallas Howard as his wife, Kate, and Anton Yelchin as his father, Kyle Reese. Peeking at the post-apocalyptic world of 2018, we saw a giant old-school Terminator in action, some sleek futuristic T600 models, major explosions, Skynet's headquarters, a ruined Los Angeles, concentration camp-style transports for captured members of the resistance and much, much more.
As one of the movies' most famous lines heralds, we'll be back, so don't forget to check out our full On the Set: 'Terminator Salvation' report in a few months, before the movie hits theaters May 22, 2009.

anytime you try to milk a movie this many times it only gets worse and worse...also Cristian bale is getting way over exposed especialy for an average actor with a bad attitude. Plus..as much as i adore Bryce Howard...she tends to make really bad movies. I think this will make a little money due to the fans of the series, but over time i think itll be looked at as another ho hum lame actione movie...remember this is only a pg13 film. by the way...the charles angels movies sucked as well so why all the hubbub about G?

My daughter Chandi and I are in the movie. This will be my second movie with Christian Bale. The previous was the 3:10 to YUMA with Russell Crowe. Terminator Salvation is powerful and the special effects and the great New Mexico scenery is exspansive. The pyrotechnics are wonderful. See you in the theatre in May 2009 .
