  • Brad Bird's Tomorrowland, a noble failure about trying to succeed, is written and directed with such open-hearted optimism that you cheer it on even as it stumbles. show more

  • The whole film is an argument about nothing less than the future — can we fix our troubled world or not? But for all of its vaulting ambition, its sumptuous eye-feasts and its leapings back and forth in space and time, Tomorrowland never comes together as coherent drama in the here and now. show more

  • Unlikely to be remembered in decades to come - or even in months to come, once the next teenage dystopian fantasy inserts itself into movie houses. show more

You'll love it or hate it. If you're the right kind of person, the connection will be immediate. If not, you won't understand the foundational point - the promises of the future, founded in the past, were all emptied and voided through the years. Think of the song "IGY". We now look to some ethereal hope to make it all better. This movie believes that hope will be some future humans using time travel to make the future good again. In other stories, like "Stargate", alien technology would make it all better. Both ideas are far-fetched. Remember the NASA film, "The Dream is Alive"? Well, I have news for you - "the dream is a lie" and some of the characters in this movie understand this.

I kept waiting for something to happen. I'm embarrassed for George. I'm sure he made pretty good money but the movie stunk!

Five family members from 6-54 attended. Reviews were completely mixed. Six year old and 36 year old loved it. 12 Year old boy was lukewarm and 12 year old girl and 54 year old grandma were not impressed. It might have been better had more of Tomorrowland been shown. Save your money and wait for video.
