"21" could have been so much better. The story line had so many holes and improbabilities...and I don't mean relating to Blackjack. Why do they keep going to the same casino where the same security guy can watch them when there are hundreds of Casinos in Vegas...just stupid. And if they did go to many different casinos, as they alluded to in their "planning", why did the same security guy, who only worked for "one or two" casinos in all of Vegas, keep seeing them over and over again. Another thoughtless "based on a true story" Hollywood adaptation with contrived plot lines in an attempt to add drama and excitement. I have not read the book, but I imagine the real story was more interesting.

SO syrupy and pre digested a piece of work I was almost ready to gag myself a few times. No brainwork at all required, the only thing to be said for it was it was easy to follow and not boring, just sickeningly predictable........young people will like it because they have not seen it before as one of the professional critics above noted,

21 is a loose movie adaptation of Ben Mezrish's best seller Bringing Down the House. At the outset Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), a straight-A engineering student at MIT, wants to go to Harvard Medical School. He as one big problem which is the $300,000 it will take to pay for it. His one hope is a scholarship that will pay his way. Read my full review at johnhuntspace.com/21.html

I liked this. I liked the story in general, and I didn't see the plot twist at the end coming, and I love a movie with a good twist! I thought the party scene on top of one of the hotel/skycrapers in Vegas was totally cool, and I would loved to have seen more of that scene as it went by too fast! However, I did feel myself wanting to scream at one of the gamblers, "If you are so darn smart, why in the world are you hiding hundreds of thousands of dollars in your dorm room in a ceiling panel? Why not a safe deposit box in a bank? Or why not put a few dollars in a savings account, or something?"

The newspaper only gave it 1 star so I was a little hesitant about seeing this movie. Anything with George Clooney in it deserves my attention so away I went. This movie was not disapponting at all, it was GREAT! I highly reccommend this and I give it a 3 and a half.

Based on the "professional" reviews by major newspapers and publications, I'm shocked none gave it a score of "21". Leads one to believe movie reviewers aren't really that intellectual and have no idea how to really put down a movie....lol.

Poor Screenplay, and ripped out with cheap editing. The Directing was ok, but character structure was very basic and boring. Predictable!!! Camera work/actors was a little ruff. I mean, come one.... Confusing movie that you have to pretend you know whats going on2.5 out 5 stars

21 is by far one of the better movies Iâve seen in a long time. The plot was well done and kept going until the very end. The acting was great and it threw a few surprises at me. Certainly worth the ten dollar movie ticket!!
