Totally agree with Braser and Tbird. The ending was so ridiculous as to be insulting. Good story (more or less- Peter Fonda riding around after that belly shot and blood loss? Please!!!) until they got to Yuma and then they wrote themselves into a corner. Worst movie of the year. Well, next to the 28 Days Later sequel which suffered for the same absurd plot problems.

i thought the movie was good, i walked out of the theatre saying to my self it was good. now was it a great movie no,was it compareable to unforgiven no way, will it go down in history as one of the top 15 best westerns of all time can i get a hell no! these critics need to find themselfs a new job if thought this was the best western sine unforgiven. however i thought that russell crow did a solid job, and so did the supporting actor.

"3:10 to Yuma" is a timeless masterpiece because it was really filmed during the Longest Drought the West had ever recorded.I was there, in the land of showers every other day, no watering of any plants, no dishwashers or clotheswashers (used too much water) and shriveled crops. "3:10 to Yuma" caught all that, thanks to an over-the-hill Van Johnson, nervy Glenn Ford, and the long opening shot of a stagecoach appearing out of the dust until it is almost here and you realize that its "road" is the great River Bed. Rush right out and rent it! Hetshepsut

as a devotee to the first lonesome dove tv miniseries and to the most recent clint eastwood westerns aka unforgiven, this movie was complete and utter garbage. how incredibly dissapointing. and nonbelievable. it was laughable. i especially loved bens complete cooperation with his own so called demise. and that litlle whistle for the horse at the end, nice, i threw up and went home. for god sakes save your money

Any Critics comparing this to Unforgiven should resign as critics and take up knitting. This movie was boring, predictable and Russell Crowe looked like he was forced to do this roll. He was bland to say the least. Every time I had hope that some emotion would come out in at least one of the characters is flopped to the ground. The wife was portraited as a total idiot with no brains or backbone. Russell Crowe didn't have the clean cold smooth style that the character needed - he was more bored or annoyed? I can't tell which. All in all - it's a grade below Spagetti Western.

3:10 to Yuma, it should have been a 4 12 to Disappointment. 4:12 was the arrest code for over acting (Stan Freberg's record 'Dragonnet') I just couldn't believe that a man so evil and rotten could change his life after killing 15 to 20 men before my eyes, and does it in ten-second! After the killings he climbs into a cage that is set up in a railcar that transports prisneros to Yuma, the train is pulling out of the station, the whistle is blowing and he is so remorseful for what he has done. He hands over his gun to the conductor as he climbs into the cage and as the train pulls away from the station...he gives a low whistle and his horse that is a 100 feet away comes chasing after the train because the murdering idiot is going to escape later on...give me a break

Movie cuts through the violence of the old west and challenges the viewer to consider that what is right and what is moral is not always crystal clear. A lesson for the present as well.Superb acting from Crowe and Bale, with a strong supporting cast.
