\"A Christmas Story\" mirrors my childhood of the late 30s ? early 40s. The father of one of my friends actually owned that same model Oldsmobile. (Indeed thanks to the war, they and the rest of us were forced to keep those 30s era cars well into the late 40s.) This is, without a doubt, the quintessential Christmas movie. It embodies the Christmas holiday in all it's glories and quirks from the eyes of a child, just as it should be. A must see!
