A movie for teenagers, and, as these things go, very entertaining. show more

Goo oozes without mercy in A Walk to Remember. show more

It's wholesome as a glass of milk, and as refreshing. show more

The audience for this chaste teen romance won't be film lovers, as the movie is sappy and listlessly paced. But it's just the ticket for people who want their movies sanitized. show more

    Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times

A love story so sweet, sincere and positive that it sneaks past the defenses built up in this age of irony. show more

    Connie Ogle Miami Herald

The film is well-scrubbed of anything resembling sexuality, more a nonthreatening fairy tale than the romantic drama it aims to be. Its appeal flies straight to the hearts of 13-year-old girls. show more

    Lou Lumenick New York Post

About as edgy as a cup of Ovaltine, A Walk to Remember is an old-fashioned teen romance so sweet and free of irony that criticizing it feels like taking a baseball bat to a sack full of newborn kittens. show more

There's nothing remotely memorable about this walk. show more

A movie where the miracles -- and treacly moments -- keep topping each other. show more

Since the movie has so little conviction, or personality of its own, it's a walk you can easily forget. show more

One of the most touching and unforgettable movies I have personally gone to see. When I first heard that it was coming out, I first thought "Okay, just another sappy and stupid girly movie that I won't go and see, and if I do, I'll get up and leave at some point and demand a refund." When it was all over, however, and I was on my way home that evening, my thoughts were totally different. In fact, after I got home that night and I was asked how the movie was, all I could say was "Wow!" Other than that, I was totally speechless, aside from the fact that I was still crying, though not as much or as bad as I had been during the movie and during the ride home afterwards (a girl I went to school with offered me a ride home as I left after the movie ended). I have also seen this film on DVD and on television at least ten times all told, and I NEVER get tired of seeing it. In fact, during the months leading up to the movie's release, many people were saying that the American cinema was LONG overdue for a movie that would touch so many people's hearts, though many critics hated it. Truly a very touching and beautful movie, and one worth seeing more than once. You should read the novel, as well; it's just as good.
