When I played the sh.. out of this 8 track in my MG.

With all the superlative reviews I was expecting more from this movie. I suppose, being from the Beatles generation, that anything other than them will always be less than perfect. I do give credit to a couple of the solo singers who put their own stamp on a couple of the songs. But, all in all, the movie lacked the Beatle's best qualities.

Ok, I was reading one of the reviews (the very last one, in which Ty Burr bashes the entire movie)..look, I can't tell you that you have to LOVE this movie, but at least when you are bashing the so called "soap opera" dialogue, make sure it's correct, okay?(Later she says, "We're in the middle of a revolution, Jude, and you're doing doodles.") A quote from his review.Here is the actual lines:Lucy: We're in the middle of a revolution, Jude, and what are you doing? Doodles and cartoons!Jude: Well I'm sorry I'm not the man with the megaphone but this is what I do!OK, there.Stop trying to make it seem dumb just because you believe so.

It is a rare thing to see true brilliance in this world but Taymor is a genius. I do not write reviews but I just had to write this one.Across the Universe is an amazing musical, visually and thoughtfully; it is an event to be treasured. every minute is so beautiful to watch and deserves a ten in imagination and uniqueness. I applauded the film along with the two other people in the theater. We were simply stunned to see this production.

I just came back from seeing this movie for the second time with my younger sister who I "brainwashed" into becoming a Beatles fan. This was her second time also,she had seen it the nite before with her husband. The music is a great tribute to John, Paul, George and Ringo. The story was great, and you could pick out so many meanings to the various scenes. It really hit today with the war going on, especially the scene of the recruits carrying Lady Liberty. Wow, very heavy. I cannot believe that it is not as well advertised as other movies, everyone should see this whether you are a Beatles fan, or not. There is so much meaning behind the story and the songs that relate to today, not only the 60's. Thank you to the director, producer and writers for an absolutely phenomenal motion picture. I cannot wait for the DVD to come out.

I went to see this with my husband and another couple. We all walked out loving the film so much that we wanted to see it again. It is more than a movie, it is a piece of art. The back round of the Viet Nam war and Civil Rights brought back the times and fitting in the beautiful Beatle tunes amazed me. This movie is not for everyone, not that you need to be a Beatle fan specifically, you just need to see it as the unique adventure that it is. In addition. not have a preconceived idea about what a movie should be.

This movie is the BEST movie I have ever seen,and after listening to the actors singing these amazing songs has got me even more interested in the beatles.If you havent seen this movie you should go out and watch it as fast as you can,and you wont regret it.Its an interesting musical with a creative style.

Across the Universe is the best movie that has been made in a very long time. Just crap movies have been coming out, such as these awful horror and slap-stick humor movies. \nI praise this movie, and cannot wait to see it for the second time.
