I too, have been waiting a long time for this movie. I watched the movie crew turn a familiar neighborhood into Detroit and was waiting patiently to see the final product. I was certainly not disappointed. I loved the music, the fresh new faces in the leads and was so happy to see rock icons and a little Salma in the mix. Was lead to tears on two occasions. Amazing, just amazing. Hey, even my husband, who accompanied me, enjoyed it and he didn't even fall asleep once. Kudos Julie.

Remember an embarrassment from 1978 called Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club's Band with Peter Frampton? Clueless producers on Broadway have lost millions over the last few years on these juke-box musicals (Lennon just 2 years ago). This is just old music put in the mouths of cardboard characters and decked out in imagery and dance stolen from Twyla Tharp's brilliant 1979 movie of Hair. And yes, I still wanted to love it, anyway...

I read the reviews before seeing the movie which helped me understand the story better. Reviews mentioned comments such as Maxwell's silver hammer, she climbed through the bathroom window and how Jude, Lucy Jojo, Prudence, Maxwell, Sadie, are mentioned in Beatle songs. The story goes from killing in Viet Nam to the killing in the streets of Detroit during the riots. News papers were filled with war stories while the younger generation were protesting violence and trying to live on peace and love. Baby boomers should enjoy this movie. The music and choreography were terrific. This is a movie I'd like to see again!

I saw the preview showing for this movie and was hooked instantly. I knew that i had to share this experience with everyone i knew. The covers were beautifuly done and i found myself going to get the soundtrack the same day. I love how they portrayed the 60s revolution and how so many elements of love were shown throughout the entire movie. It seriously made me feel great to be in love. I am extremely disapointed that they do not have any showtimes in my area, however it was a worth it to drive an extra 45 minutes to see it. I cant wait to see it again.

This film is truely is a ride back into the 1960's, both the good and the bad. It was very well done and everyone involved should be proud of the great movie they made. It was a trip.

With all the bombing for months with adds for this movie in major (AMC and Regal) theatres I would have thought every theatre in the USA would be showing this. Well, we have to put up with even more adds and previews for now.:-( Maybe sometime it will arrive, but then I did find that it's showing right now in a back alley dump theatre in my area which is in a major city area with loads of theatres. Personally they would have to pay me some big $$$ to get me to see this. I've read and heard some REAL reviews where people just couldn't stand it and ran out. The story is insane and the music is too. Some people just can't sing. Evan Rachel Wood is said to be the only reason for seeing if you do. The other actors are repulsive.

I was disappointed. I have been waiting for this movie since seeing the trailer several months ago. The music is great and some of the scenes are so visually artistic, exactly what one would expect from the director of "The Lion King" musical. One of the most touching scenes for me was "Let It Be," in which a young boy is killed in a street riot. We then go to his funeral, where a choir takes over the song. However, there are several scenes that lack artistic vision, which prevents the film from flowing. Some scenes don't add much to the plot either. In one scene the characters find themselves on a pointless psychadellic roadtrip to find a philosopher played by Eddie Izzard. In short, it's still a good movie, but it left me wanting more -- more storyline to fill the 2 1/2 hours.
