I walked into this movie without knowing a thing about it. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a thoroughly engrossing movie with excellent acting. I must warn you though...bring your kleenex with you.

I just returned from seeing "After The Wedding". I thought the acting and the cinematography were excellent. Although many events were predictable, the film is well worth seeing. The scenes in India make you really see the beauty and the poverty in India. I thought the acting was incredible, especially by the main characters. I give it four stars.

This is the season of the study of billionaires and how they got that way. We marvel at the greed and avarice of those who can never have enough! Here are scenes of grinding and nauseating poverty in India where the slightest kindness is so well received. The "hero" of the film, Jacob, needs to decide on the future of his "wards" in India or his own future in a very well-established,wealthy milieu in his native Denmark. Therein lies this engrossing and surprising tale with many twists and turns. Marvelous acting!

In my estimation this is one of the best films of the year thus far - ranking right up there with Lives of Others. It was completely engrossing - acting, camera work and story line. Spelling binding from beginning to end. The four others I saw the movie with and people we spoke with afterwards had nothing but praise for this incredible movie. A wonderful sleeper!
