  • Finding a fresh setting for a comedy is difficult, but a Renaissance fair is too broad a target. show more

  • From the opening credits -- an animated sequence so crude a junior-high art student would be ashamed of it -- to a climax in which Kate's dog is taken hostage with a crossbow, there's not an ounce of mirth in this parade of ghastly accents, tin-eared romantic montages and dime-store knavery. show more

  • Give it points on setting and a couple of the performances, but the joke-starved All's Faire in Love only rarely rises to the level of fair to middling. show more

Saw the film on Tuesday at the Village Voice word-of-mouth screening in New York City... and the audience was going crazy for the outlandish performance of Chris Wilde as \"Rank\" (the noble prince). He delivers a performance of star-making power, as memorable and outlandish as when I first saw Johnny Depp\'s \"Captain Sparrow\" character in the Pirates films! Really superb comedic actor. All other cast were great, too. It\'s a little bizarre to see a giganto Owen Benjamin paired up with petite little Christina Ricci, but the filmmakers used this to comedic benefit. I was surprised to see some negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Obviously, these \"snooty Oscar types\" didn\'t see \"ALL\'S FAIRE\" with an audience! They probably hated \"The Hangover\" too! I\'d check it out!
