This is a great movie from start to finish with great acting from Denzel to Josh Brolin. The gritty and dark manor in which it was filmed was terrific. I loved the stories of the two men and how it grew to the great interrogation room scene. No, this movie did not have "beautiful scenery" as one review here put it. It was a movie about the drug scene in Harlem! Why would it?! One reviewer walked out on Forrest Gump?! Is this supposed to make you sound like you know movies?! Right! Please do not listen to these people! If you want to see a great great movie, this is the one for you!

Not for kids, Nudity galore. What I couldn't figure out is why all the girls were naked(because they might steal something), but all the men in the room were fully clothed counting thousands of dollars. What???? They just had the nudity to titillate,no other reason. I was bored at times. The ending was good.

I'm from N.J. and I definately understood the movie and the time. I am a 45 year young woman and grew up in the late 70's around the Newark happenings. Russell is not one of my favorite actors and did not seem to bring the pain or fire to the screen to support Denzel's role. I do feel he gave it a good try playing the "NJ man role" but not enough to make it happen, otherwise this could have been a great movie. I would like to see Denzel work with the director Martin, who made the movie Ray. I believe they would make a blockbuster together.

I remember starting to read this short story years ago but for some reason I never finished it. That's the main reason I went to see it and although it was your typical horror film, the ending made it worthwhile. In fact, the ending was like getting hit in the face with a brick. Which in itself made it worth seeing. Might go and see it again.

This was an awesome movie and great acting from the cast. I talked about this movie for days. It is a must see. Any body that thinks this movie was bad, clearly don't understand real life. This movie was based on a true story. "Life of a Ganster."What else did you expect?

i love this movie rm crow and mr. washington were great and the fact that it is a true story im not surprised that it was great they both are the best in there feild loved the movie and love them

I just got back from seeing this movie, and I was a little anxious given the different opinons, not to mention the critics..but ...trust me....dont listen to the critics..they just dont like Russell Crowe. This was one of the best movies I have ever seen...The Acting...The Story....The cinematograpy...The Realism and oh yes...THE ACTING...The ensemble from Crowe to Denzel right down to Ruby Dee as the mother. Not to mention Josh Brolin (will be very shocked if does'nt get a supporting actor nomination) as teh crooked cop were all PHENOMINAL, the directing was also the Best...This is as enjoyable as "the Godfather"..I took my 15 year old son and he has not stopped talking about the two "parallell stories"...Just a great movie..be aware of the graphic violence, and nudity...but both were warranted here....and enjoy the best hollywood has put out in a long time !!!!!

I love the Video Game Series, and the movie was no exception for the franchise. They did change some facts in the movie, but the changes made weren't outrageous as to be unbelievable. I hope they make a sequel to it, as it was awesome. More people should watch it.
