Betty Hutton was a fantastic actress and song and dance girl but only got low budget films to show her stuff, except for this film. This film has its flaws but Hutton is sparkling and bright.

Village Voice
Baritone Howard Keel makes an impressive Hollywood debut as Hutton's leading man. During the nonmusical scenes, Betty Hutton gives a crude and strident performance, exhausting to watch, but she belts out the songs with an appropriately rowdy energy. Full Review

Chicago Reader
It still holds up as splashy fun of a sort, if you can handle its sexual politics and its depictions of Native Americans. Full Review
Keith Phipps
The Onion A.V. Club
Though the film suffers from Sidney's point-and-shoot approach to the Robert Alton-staged musical numbers, it's buoyed nicely by the songs themselves, a clever script, crisp Technicolor cinematography, and Hutton's spirited performance. Full Review

Annie Get Your Gun is socko musical entertainment on film, just as it was on the Broadway stage. (Review of original release) Full Review
