Joe Neumaier New York Daily News

Has no thrills, no chills, no scares and contains a villain, or several of them, actually, that will turn you to stone -- from boredom. show more

    Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter

Not only is this film's form clichéd, so is its content. show more

    Movieline

To describe what unfolds as a slow burn is to be awfully generous. show more

    Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune

Many will find Apollo 18 silly and derivative. It is. Yet it's also a break from the usual hyperbolic, down-your-throat brand of silly and derivative scare movies. show more

  • 38
    Boston Globe

Contains nothing original or over-the-top enough to make it a real scream fest. For most horror fans it will be kind of a snooze. show more

    Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel

Whatever merits the production values have, the cheap frights don't deliver, the performers bring no pathos and the gimmick behind Apollo 18 flat out does not work. show more

    Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine

A nasty, cleverly revealed monster might have redeemed some of the monotony of the first (seemingly endless) hour, but the beasty here manages to be ludicrous, dull, and unoriginal somehow all at once, compromising the marginal hope you may have been holding out for the film. show more

    Kim Newman Empire

Blair Witch with moon rock. Paranormal Activity in space. Contrived, but if you can take one more variant on the formula, it's got its moments. show more

Ben Kenigsberg Time Out New York

All Apollo 18 has to offer is endless radio crackle and visual incoherence. And what's out there, tormenting the astronauts? The answer is dumber than a box of moon rocks. show more

    Sara Maria Vizcarrondo Boxoffice Magazine

Apollo 18 is a drab horror that tries to plant fears about untrustworthy authority (Nixon, NASA, etc) that are as stale as a freeze-dried peas. show more

I thought there might be some truth in this film, but was taken in like everone else. The thing that escapes me is they try to make you feel its all true and covered up by the gov. and that is true to a certain degree. I am sure there are alot of gov. cover ups, but not this one. First a rock that turns into a creature that can live with or with out oxygen? SO true to a syfi film. I was really hoping there might have been something and the only thing that could be a cover up is that Russia got there first. After all, they did put the first satilite in space..Remember Sputnik?I give this film A minus star

Creepy, scary, slow, haunting, really gets in your head though. The second half of the movie is 10x better than the first half.

The critics were way too generous giving it a 22 out of 100. I would have given it minus 22 out of 100. If you see this movie the ponzi schemers might just line up waiting to talk to you into making investments. IT WAS THAT BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read other reviews and did not agree.Apollo 18 had all of the suspense, timing and thrill of a lot of other really good scary movies; however, with an eerily authentic edge to it. I was not looking for perfect acting but rather authenticity which the astronauts displayed in droves. I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of the film. I have already recommended it to someone and I just got out of the movie theatre.
