Plot Summary
After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, three young New Yorkers sign up to fight on behalf of Uncle Sam. The fates of these recruits vary: A stockbroker progresses from idealist to disillusioned alcoholic, a failed dancer quickly embraces the army's lifestyle and philosophy and a high school dropout finds that army life is as harsh as his former existence in the ghetto. In this depiction of indecision and ambivalence, war isn't hell so much as purgatory.
