I went to see this movie - despite the poor reviews by most critics - because the story line interested me, Robin Williams is in it, it takes place in New York city, one of my favorite places, and I'm a lifelong music lover. The fact that it deals with the plight of orphans who have no idea who their parents are or were was a plus - although I admit that this story is far from typical. (Would that they all could find their parents, and that their parents were successful and "good" people.) Yes, it's improbable, but I found it utterly charming and left the theater in a great mood, knowing that I'd been thoroughly entertained. Movies don't have to contain sex, violence, and depressing or puzzling endings to be successful. For me, this one worked, and I have no regrets. If it appears on TV in the future, I know I'll watch it again!

Most movie critics are either non-musicians or musician want-to-bes, and are unable to be emotionally involved and affected by music. Therefore they are on the outside looking in and unable to critic or adjudicate a movie involving the musical drive and spirit that musicians feel. Music lives on and the movie critics come and go, some faster than others.

The adults in our family (10 in total) went out for a movie without the kids, the men went to see a "guy movie" and the only choices we had were August Rush or Enchanted in our time slot. We went in with the attitude, we'll there's nothing better to watch, and boy were we surprised! This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long, long time. The critics above are wrong. This movie should get several awards. It was predictable in places, but what a movie! We left the theater stating this is a movie we would defintely buy on DVD. It's nice to see a movie that is not loaded with sex, language and violence. This is defintely a must see! Enjoy ~

Yes, a pleasure to see a film not loaded with shootings, mayhem, sex, drugs and the like. You don't even have to be a music lover to get some good out of this unbelievable love story.Take the kids. They'll love it also. Too bad the film was not adequately promoted and advertised. Tough to find a theater where it is still playing. Too bad.

I have seen them all. This takes every award. Mesmerizing!! Everthing about this movie was superb! Take your kids. Thank you, Hollywood, for FINALLY understanding there are people in this world that actuallyWANT good, wholesome movies, with great family values and faith.

At the end of this movie, the theatre audience stood up and applauded! That never happened to me in a theatre before. It was that good! You won't be dissapointed.

I thought this would be an enjoyable and fun movie for my husband and I to see, but it was even better! The predictablity of it made it even more fun and exciting, and I found myself jumping in my seat wating for the inevitable climax of the film. The music and beauty of the inprobabable story was refreshing and entertaining! What do the critcs know anyway?

What schlock! We have Keri Russell wondering around with this constant awe struck expression befitting an astounded 4 year old. All the while she is flashing a toothpaste commerical smile. It was like watching a Keri Russell modeling session instead of a woman falling in love. It took almost 2 hours for the obvious to happen. The story belonged in a half hour after-school special. The only saving grace was being able to watch 2 pretty people for a while.
