Expected more! Did not live up to the hipe! The cinematography was great! Made me want to go to Australia. The only reason to see in the theater is the cinematography. Otherwise see on DVD.

This movie didn't miss one cliche' regarding white man's racism, evils of imperialism, greedy capitalists, wickedness of organized religion, and the purity of paganism and adultery. It is kind of a combination Gone with the Wind, Crocodile Dundee, and Quiqley Down Under, though with none of the drama, charm or character of any of them. Honestly, Kidman and Jackman should be embarrassed by the whole stupid over-long farce. Waste of money and time.

The strength of the movie lies in the cinematography. Makes me want to travel to Australia. Its weaknesses unfortunately are plentiful. Poor computer generated special effects, too long; Kidman was not believable & especially in the beginning of the film almost played a caricature of a too proper English woman. Hugh was surprisingly convincing as a 'western' rough around the edges leading man. He displayed shades of early C. Eastwood western portrayals. Tried to be an epic tale but never quite reaches that level. Wait for the video version, especially if you have HD as you'll be able to enjoy the cinematography while hitting your fast forward button through the many unnecessary scenes.

With actors like these, I expected more from this movie. I found myself a little disappointed. There was absolutely NO chemistry between Hugh and Nichole. At one point, she was supposed to be looking at him lovingly but looked more crossed-eyed than anything! (Just watch, if you don't believe me and see for yourself!) Hugh did a good job but "Creamy" stole the show! Definately not Nichole's best performance.

I loved this movie!!! Great action/ romance, and Hugh Jackman is HOT! Loved it.

Absolutely loved the movie! Action-packed, kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Acting was great! Best movie I've seen in a long time

The love story and history were good but the young boy, Brandon Walters, was the real star, mesmorizing and symbolic of the heart of the story.

I loved this movie too. It has alot of excitement and love that part of history. I think all the actresses and actors did wonderful job.
