much better than all the cynics out there want you to believe. This is a movie like nothing else we've seen this decade.

re: ec Kidsmoke review, I think the lack of a super hero has gotten in his way of getting his review right. While everyone, including Kidsmoke, has the right to vent, that should not be permitted here. Yes, the movie is long. But there were few dull moments and they were all in the beginning. Yes it was predictable but where else can you get an American-type cowboy movie, WWII action, and travelogue at the same time not to mention what must have been a well documented history of Australia and Darwin, in particular.

I must say I was dissapointed that someone would spend so much money on an overly long production and spend so little on special effects! The plot is the normal modern Hollywood preach - corporate greed is bad, Christianity is wrong, and sexual gratification conquers all. The miscast acting is over the top and unblievable. Just another unimaginatinative hollywood dud. If it weren't for the wonderful boy this movie had nothing.

This was the worst movie I've seen in a long time. From the poor acting, writing, filming, sound, cinematography, to the editing, it plain ol' stunk! It COULD have been a little beter if it would have ended 1/2 hour after it started. I was buckled over with laughter as each and every time I thought the movie was over, it spun off in a different direction over and over, and kept on going, and going, and going!!!! Save your money folks....it was all talk and hype about this one.

I would just like to say that I watched Austrailia last night and it was astonishingly romantic and heartfelt. I do not think that I have ever seen such a wide display of so many dynamic ideas and history in a movie. Sure the length is abit long but overall I could absoulutely watch it again and appreciate this recreation of history. xoxo b.
