I thought it was good, as well.But of course, my taste in movies is fairly different than most people's. I prefer movies that focus more on characters than complex plotlines, which this one did.The plotline, however, was fairly stable. Not incredible. But stable. And Nicholas Cage is a very good actor.What's more, if anyone noticed the music, it was the best music I've heard in an action flick in a while.

Nicolas Cage just always has that sad expression on his face, and he can’t get very exciting…. Gloomy expression continually? Come on… If you ask me (  ), you can wait for the DVD. Could’ve been a 4 stars movie with a different actor and better editing – barely makes it to 3 stars as is… If you really like Cage – go and see it now… L. Read more at OpineAway.com

Dspite what others say i think this movie was actually pretty good. It kept me intresed throughout the whole movie. some of the violence was over the top but it was still pretty good.

I hate to say this because, I've liked Nicolas Cage films "in the past"...(since "Adaptation" I think his choices in movies have been a bit beneath his talents really, but that's just my opinion)...BUT...this film ..was just terrible! The extreme violence was just totally "over-the-top" and Cage sort of seems to be walking through this movie with all the charm of a wet dish rag. This quite possible may be his worst movie YET. I even liked "National Treasure" despite that being more a family film and he seemed to have alot of fun making those...But he needs to get back to picking better scripts for himself and actual "ACT" again...Sorry but for me, this was just awful. And the original "Bangkok Dangerous" was by far a much better film.

The old one Bangkok Dangerous 1999 is better this new version. Watching the new version is like watching Nick Cage massauge his ego for two hours. I want my money back.PS. You can also watch the old version on youtube and then you'll know how different they are.

Nicolas cage may not be very selective in the roles he plays in movies today, that's because he has played almost every role that you can think of. Moreover, this movie is not a bad movie it's just not an original movie. First, it's a remake of a movie that came out in 1999. Second, it's an action movie that has an exhausted story which has be recycled many times over in other films of it's genre. My opinion is that Nicolas Cage is meant to be the main attraction for this film, being that he has not yet played a contract killer with a guilty conscience yet. Now that cage has gotten a taste of being an assassin, he will probably go back to doing roles that are more suitable for him like The Family Guy, or Raising Arizona, part 2. Ultimately Nicolas Cage probably waited to long to do a movie like this, however, he does bring his own unique style to shooting guns, using explosives, ect. Last, see this movie for it's stylistic visuals and action sequences. If your an action movie fan that doesn't care about dramatic acting or strong original stories than Bangkok Dangerous could be a movie for you. I recommend watching the original Bangkok Dangerous and the trailer for the new Bangkok Dangerous. Also, Reading mediocre online reviews like this one, is a good idea as well.
