Diane Keaton subjects herself to more indignities in Michael Lehmanns latest vapid comedy Because I Said So. I Though Im sure its purely coincidental, the decision to release the Diane KeatonMandy Moore rom-com Because I Said So with the scent of this years Sundance Film Festival still fresh in the air provides us with an excellent opportunity to review the wayward career of the movies director, Michael Lehmann. This film is no exception, because in any case, its lazy and disinteresteda hack-for-hire job any number of film-school grads could have put through its uninspired paces. I thought i give one of the made-to-order romantic comedy so far this valentines day thats based on her performance by Mandy Moore and should do more romantic comedies. So, despite being rooted firmly in chick flick territory (with a high cuteness index), it has the capacity to please to viewers of both genders who appreciate the genre. This is a genre in which Moore shines. But Like nearly all of Lehmanns post- Heathers work, its lazy and disinterested--a hack-for-hire job any number of film-school grads could have put through its uninspired paces. So you got to do better than that!
