  • It's rare to find a movie that uses music to define love without sentimentalizing it. But Begin Again, with songs by Glen Hansard and New Radicals frontman Gregg Alexander, is a wonderfully appealing exception. show more

  • The music is hit-and-miss, and the movie sinks into as many cliches as it avoids. But the characters are appealing, and the storytelling is just unconventional enough to keep an audience guessing. show more

  • Knightley does fine work, but she’s been miscast. Her innate sophistication undermines the movie’s intentions right off the bat. We never believe her as Greta. show more

My husband and I both loved this movie. We go to the movies almost every week and never saw a preview of this movie. Why is that? Ruffalo was awesome. Knightly did a nice job singing too. Playing all over NYC was amazing! I am sure we will see this one again.......

A terrific little film. Just goes to show that good filmmaking does not require huge budgets and special effects. The music is also quite enjoyable.
