I saw this movie in 3D and it still bored the hell out of me, if your expecting to see something like 300 or Troy you wont like this movie, the part with Angelina Jolie was the only part worth watching , even though she was only in it for like 2 minutes. This movie was really disappointing and I had to smack my friend afterwards when he said he thought it was good

After seeing the epic story that is Beowulf with my AP Literature class in theaters, I can sum up our initial responses during the movie with one word: laughter. The laughter was not out of intentional humor by the creators; rather, it was out of the sheer ridiculousness that literally about 95% of the story was altered from the classic original. The only major similarity that I could find was that the â??heroâ??sâ?? name was the same. The movie became a comedy because it was so disgustingly inaccurate. Besides the visuals, there is nothing good I can say about the movie. Why am I so closed-minded? If you knew the real story, you would be too. Beowulf was a true hero in the original story. Nothing, including women, power, and riches would have changed him or his actions. Neither Beowulf, nor Hrothgar had sex with Grendelâ??s mother. Beowulf killed her straight away (which included an excellent battle deep down underwater). That means then that Grendel was not Hrothgarâ??s son, and the dragon was not in any way related to Beowulf. When Beowulf killed Grendel, he pulled off his arm by strength alone, not through a chain/door contraption. The character of Grendel to me was hilarious. This monster, who was supposed to have been a descendent of Cainâ??s clan, was laughable. He didnâ??t look the part; I almost pitied him instead of feared him. King Hrothgar was a respected king who tried to take care of his people. He was not in any way a dumb-witted drunk. He also did not commit suicide; an act like that among the Anglo-Saxons would have been repulsive. It was noble to fight to the death. The dialogue was unbearable; most memorable was the scene in which Beowulf utters an â??uhhhâ?? sort of grunt. He was, in fact, an eloquent speaker and an intelligent hero in the poem.I could unendingly continue, but the basics have been explained. All in all, if you have read the poem, I would not recommend watching this movie, unless you are in it for laughs.

What's up with the rating. Should have been R. Why was Jolie completely naked and not Beowulf? What a double standard. Bare all the woman but play hide the dick. Jolie has no morals

Beowulf sucked, Enchanted was a phoney piece of crap, The Mist ended horribly. Mr Majorium stunk. Are there any good holiday movies out?? Here is a short list of some past movies that were released during the holidays...Harry Potter 1

The movie was just plain AWFUL. Can't even begin to give a better description. Too bad our money couldn't be refunded.

I know that people have gone crazy over the special effects but it's not enough to carry what's left of the original story. You have to take this movie not as the actual story of Beowulf but another story all together. I didn't like the changes to Beowulf's character or the portrayal of Grendel's mother being more a witch than a monster. I spent more time laughing during this movie than anything. (I'm sorry, but Angelina having built in stilettos was just ridiculous.) I don't understand the hype and all I can say is that is was nothing special.

Beowulf was by no means a bad movie. It was much worse than that.A bad movie would have been an improvement.\nThe target audience was apparently video game playing 15\nyear old boys with the attention span of a flea. Somebody owes me $7.50.

Went to see Beowulf and walked out after about 40 mins. It was by far the worst I have ever seen. I was grossed out and totally appalled by the sexual content. I felt like this movie was nothing but some pervert that wanted to bring his own sexual fantasies to the big screen. And believe me in the first 40 minutes there was plenty of sexual situations that should make this movie rated R.

We saw Beowolf tonight, and regardless of the graphics, the storyline is not really original or clever. The plot is based on lies and deception, and the characters in the movie are destroyed as a result. It leaves the viewer with a dark feeling. A much better movie is "Enchanged". It is a bright happy and magical movie that will leave you feeling uplifted, hopeful and joyful.
